Dirk is an operator-turned-investor, having built several high-tech ventures as Founder, CEO and COO at companies such as VPIsystems, Innominate Security Technologies and PHOENIX CONTACT. An engineer by education and an entrepreneur at heart, he chose to start his own company rather than pursue a PhD in the 1990s. Dirk has extensive experience in cyber security, quantum technologies, photonics, IT and telecommunications infrastructure markets. He holds an MSc in Electrical Engineering and is an alumnus of Imperial College London.
European at heart, Dirk lives with his family in Berlin and greatly enjoys the city’s openness, green spaces and waterways, as well as its vibrant arts scene. He cares deeply about freedom and human rights, and has a strong passion for innovation.
