Superconductor technology on the verge of a breakthrough

The first company that can manufacture superconductors in Germany and the first company worldwide to start industrial production is THEVA GmbH from Ismaning, a portfolio company of eCAPITAL AG.

A first important step has now been taken. Together with a project consortium consisting of Stadtwerke München, KIT, the cable manufacturer NKT and Linde AG, THEVA is laying a 12 km long underground high-voltage line between the transformer station in the west of Munich and the load centre in the south. This is to ensure security of supply for the city of Munich. This week, the FAZ presented THEVA in detail.
