Paul-Josef Patt and Jan Blochwitz-Nimoth visit the Fraunhofer Institute in Münster

eCAPITAL NEWS
At the invitation of the Fraunhofer Institute for Research Manufacturing of Battery Cells (FFB) in Münster, Paul-Josef Patt (Managing Partner eCAPITAL) and Jan Blochwitz-Nimoth (Managing Director Arioso Systems) gave a joint lecture on “Requirements for innovations – the view of entrepreneurs and investors” to an audience of engineers and chemists.

Both speakers showed the participants ways for spin-offs from research institutions and encouraged them to turn innovative ideas into start-ups. Paul-Josef Patt focused on the requirements for innovative spin-offs from the perspective of an investor. For example, not only a team with complementary competencies or a promising go-to-market strategy are urgently needed for a successful start-up. The transfer of patents from research institutes also makes a significant contribution to a successful start-up. Jan Blochwitz-Nimoth underpinned this by reporting on his practical experience with spin-offs, e.g. Novaled AG from TU Dresden and Arioso Systems from FhG-IPMS Dresden, and gave the researchers tips for their own start-up projects.
