Networking Night
in Berlin on June 6th
EVENTS The first Invest4Cyber Networking Night organized by eCAPITAL, ECSO and eurobits on the sideline of the SuperVenture / SuperReturn took place in Berlin last week and was a great success! The event gave investors from around the world the opportunity to gain unique insights into the high potential of the European cybersecurity ecosystem.
Invest4Cyber impressively showcased the capabilities of the European cybersecurity ecosystem. In certain areas of cybersecurity, Europe surpasses Israel or the US.

This was underlined by the various program components:
First, Willi Mannheims (Managing Partner eCAPITAL) and Carlos Moreira da Silva (co-chair ECSO and Founder and Managing Partner 33N Ventures) kicked off the evening by highlighting the great potential of European cybersecurity companies due to leading technologies and many promising top cybersecurity hotspots in Europe!
During an exciting Fireside Chat, the participants heard all about impressive Cyber Success Stories from panelists like Dr. Jens Schmidt-Sceery (Partner M&A TD Cowen), Seemant Sehgal (Founder & CEO BreachLock) and Cristina Bentue (Co-Founder & COO Irius Risk), who is under the Top 25 Women Leaders in Cybersecurity as well as in Software. Thomas Wollinger (Innovation Manager Bochum Wirtschaftsentwicklung) explained to the audience why Bochum, a rather internationally little-known region in Germany, is a worldwide Diamond in the area of IT-Security. Not only the first anti-virus scanner was created there in 1987, Bochum also has the University with the largest IT-Security Programs with more than 1,000 IT-Security students and about 40 professors in the field of IT-Security.
In the following pitch contest, five impressive stars of the cybersecurity startup scene were introduced. We are thrilled that Prof. Dr. Christian Zenger (CEO and Co-Founder PHYSEC GmbH), a winner of the Innovators Under 35 awards by MIT (whose laureates, among others, has also been Marc Zuckerberg) won the prestigious Invest4Cyber Audience Award. The second place went to Jan C. Wendenburg, CEO of eCAPITAL’s portfolio company ONEKEY, who just recently received the FIC 2023 Startup Award for IoT & OT security solutions.
The remainder of the evening was dedicated to an extensive networking session and provided attendees with valuable contacts in the community and access to the brightest starlets of the European cybersecurity startup scene!
