eCAPITAL on the importance of deep tech

eCAPITAL NEWS
In a recent article, VentureCapital magazine shed light on the growing importance of deep tech for the economic future.

Paul-Josef Patt, Managing Partner of eCAPITAL, was also interviewed as an expert. The article, entitled ‘The billion-dollar bet on the future or the next buzzword?’ by Alexander Görbing, discusses the extent to which deep tech can play a key role as a driver of innovation for the competitiveness and future viability of the German and European economy.

In the article, Paul-Josef Patt emphasises that deep tech represents a logical development of the term ‘high-tech’. He refers to eCAPITAL’s many years of experience in this area and the need for a high risk tolerance for investments in deeptech start-ups. He also emphasises the opportunities offered by this asset class, particularly through the protection of innovative technologies via strong IP positions and the disruptive potential of new business models.

Deeptech start-ups have great potential to become unicorns if they focus on a solid IP strategy and bring innovative solutions to the market.
