Apheris Joins
OpenFold Consortium
to Drive Adoption of Open-Source AI

Apheris has reached a major milestone in its mission to enable secure, collaborative drug discovery: the company is joining the OpenFold Consortium, one of the most important initiatives in open-source AI for structural biology.

As announced in the article titled “OpenFold Expands AI for Biological Modeling Mission with Two New Members,” Apheris joins alongside Johnson & Johnson and will play a central role in enabling OpenFold models to be evaluated on real-world, IP-sensitive biomedical data – without compromising data privacy or ownership.

By contributing its expertise in federated benchmarking, Apheris helps bridge the gap between cutting-edge AI models and their practical use in highly regulated, distributed environments. This positions the company as a key enabler of OpenFold’s industrial relevance, especially as new models like OpenFold3 push the boundaries of structure prediction across proteins, DNA, and small molecules.
