We’re looking for someone to temporarily join our controlling team and track the numbers!


eCAPITAL is a venture capital firm that provides early to growth stage funding to European technology companies in fields such as enterprise software & IT, cybersecurity, industry 4.0, new materials, and cleantech. Founded in 1999 and with assets of over EUR 340 million under management, eCAPITAL has a history of supporting entrepreneurs building companies with lasting significance including several successful German exits such as sonnen and Novaled.

To support our controlling team, we are currently seeking highly motivated and talented individuals to join our team as

Controlling Intern (m/f/d)

for a minimum of 3 months (ideally 4+ months). The internship will be based in our office in Münster but working (partially) remote is also possible.

Your Responsibilities

  • Active project collaboration and development of internal processes and guidelines
  • Controlling of venture capital funds and underlying portfolio companies
  • Data and system maintenance and preparation of ad-hoc analyses
  • Support of portfolio reporting and management (captables, reporting, liquidation preferences)
  • Support for payment transactions, fund administration, accounting and regulatory issues
  • Development of company-specific key figures and controlling tools
  • Preparation of decision documents and presentations for internal and external use

Your Profile

  • First practical experience through internships or work experience in controlling or accounting
  • Matriculation/degree in a university program in the field of finance, accounting, or economics with good academic performance
  • Profound knowledge of the common MS Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and maybe first experience with databases, VBA and/or SQL
  • Good analytical and conceptual skills
  • Affinity with numbers and willingness to support us with data and system maintenance
  • High proficiency of written and spoken German and English
  • Team-oriented attitude with high commitment and motivation
